Congrats, you are in remission!
Hi everyone those were the words my oncologist told me yesterday as he shared the result of my ct scan regarding 2 lung mets. I almost have trouble believing it, but I am very happy. No evidence of metastatic disease. He says I should have an MRI in June which will be 6 months from my mammogram which was good last Dec. I have irregular density in the right breast which we know about-which showed slight activvity on the Pet scan. My doctor does not seem worried though--are there ever reasons for slight activity other than the big C? I continue in the clinical trial-herceptin xeloda navelbine In friendship, Ceesun

My understanding is that it's not unusual to have slight uptake in areas where you've had surgery--i.e. lumpectomy. Mine also had uptake two months after surgery and the radiologist stated "probably result of surgery." So good news. Congratulations!

Just wondering...confused
If a person is on chemo for months, would the chemo automatically go to the other breast as prevention as well as the affected breast? thanks Ceesun

Ceesun -
WELL MORE great news! Delighted to hear it - as I know you are!
Re your question does chemo go to the other breast? - Since chemo is systemic, it would "go" wherever the blood flow is (except the brain where crossing the blood brain barrier is a problem). So chemo may have been protective in your other breast as well.
Congratulations on your good scans - and many many more!

Agree with Chrissy, it should have went to your whole body. The only question is if your particular chemo targeted your specific cancer. Seems to be somewhat trial and error. Run with the good news. Enjoy it for now. Bev.
