Question Pain after PET Scan?

I have a muga and a pet scan yesterday. It was the 1st one have ever had. I did find during the test. I slept a lot after they gave the injection. I even asked if they gave me something to relax me and they said no. I started hurting on my left side just above my waist last night. Not bad pain but enough to drive me nuts. Has anyone else experience anything like this? I thought it might me muscular and took an advil but that didn't seem to help. Any advice would be appreciated. I hate to call my onc office because he is on vacation until Tueday.

Hugs and Smiles

You said you had the MUGA scan. Just in case you meant the ECHO, I will tell you that I have had discomfort after that test because they rub along the ribs and have to press down to get the effects they are after from the echo.

Sometimes the technician will mention that you may feel some rib discomfort the next day; that patients have mentioned that before. Usually by a day or two later, you don't notice it anymore.

I've never had any pain after a PET/CT scan. As Barbara said sometimes when you have an echocardiogram you are sore on the left rib area.
