Wink Herceptin And Arimidex

Hi ladies,

Just a note to say that I am new to this site, which looks very informative and friendly.

I am 44 years old from the south of England in the UK. I was diagnosed 6 years ago and have had secondary liver for the last year.
I have been on Capecitabine and Herceptin for a year, which has shrunk and stabilized my liver mets at the moment. However I had a really bad hand and foot reaction to the Capecitabine and I am now on Herceptin and Arimidex only.

I would really like to hear from other ladies on this combination.

I am having a CT scan in January, so fingers crossed the little monster is still behaving! Feeling a bit nervous as off of chemo, but I trust that the Herceptin is still working!

Love

Paulinex

Hi Pauline
I'm not a million miles away from you in Ireland! I'm not in your situation but my friend took herceptin and arimidex which worked well for her for quite a few years in containing her mets.
I'll be keeping my finger's crossed you get more good news in Jan and hope you'll keep us posted!

Here is a write up on the TanDem. This trial used women who were both Her2+ and ER+. All the women had metastatic disease. Half were given Arimidex and the other half were given Arimidex and Herceptin. If you google the TanDem trial, you might get even more data but the 2 together really give a nice one-two punch (and a good quality of life since neither is actually chemo).

Cheers and have a nice weekend

I do not have mets but I was on Herceptin and Arimidex
for a year and did very well. I am taking Arimidex only at the present time. Don't miss chemo or herceptin at all. However I do miss my oncology nurses after spending time with them every 3 weeks for 15 months or so.
Hope you do well and welcome to the group.
Love & hugs,
Marlys
