Happy day for me....
Just received my muga test results....no change in my injection fraction still
63% I am so happy and grateful...
Also had a chest ct and all is staple there...still watching a small 5mm
ground glass right apical opacity, nodule...this has stayed the same since
I was first dx. 4/05. The dr. say it could be damage (scarring) from
bronchiolites pneumonia when I was a child (had this twice).
It makes me very concerned that I have this nodule - but do not know
how long it has been there only found this after I was dx. and insisted
on having scans. Had PT scan because of first ct chest scan and nothing
showed up on PT (thank God).
In November there was a news release on CBS about a Dr. Patrick Ross at
University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital in Columbus Ohio.
He is the director of Lung Transplantation and Thoracic Oncology Dir.
On the news release it showed that he had a laser technique that he researched and developed for lung cancer. If the laser had lit up with a
pink color it was a cancer and he then treated with laser. It also
showed an invterview with a patient two yrs. later who was treated for
early lung cancer and doing great. Was wondering if anyone out there
has heard of this?
Anyway - I am enjoying my good news and wanted to share it with
all of you. I am praying we all receive good news this year.

Jean, Big Congratulations on your wonderful news. Its such a good feeling to get the all clear.  I've had what they call scarring on my lungs too that always shows up on my PET/CT. They say its nothing to worry about and that its always been there. I know with mine...it has stayed UNCHANGED since my first PET/CT. I am sure it will be the same for you. I wouldn't worry to much about that even though I know that is easier said then done.
That is interesting news about this lazer technique. My Mother was DX with stage IV lung cancer and I have done alot of reading regarding it and this is the first I heard of that. Thanks for sharing that. I like to stay on top of all the new things out there.

11-19-09 RT. Femur surgery - Rod placed
12-7-09 Navelbine added to Herceptin/Zometa.
3-23-10 Ten days of rads to RT femur. Completed.
4-05-10 Quit Navelbine--Herceptin/Zometa alone.
5-4-10 Appt. with Dr. Slamon to see what is next? Waiting on FISH results from femur biopsy.
Results to FISH was unsuccessful--this happens less then 2% of the time.
7-7-10 Recurrence to RT axilla again. Back to UCLA for options.

Jean, congratulations on getting all "good" news. Nice to see that things are still "stapled" 
I know what you mean about concerns over the unidentified thingy. I have one of those as well - but as long as these behave and don't start doing nasty things, just count it as good.
Interesting info on the lung/laser treatment - I've heard of RFA used with lung lesions, so sounds promising. I especially love hearing of people doing well after such cutting edge treatments. Thanks for sharing that.
Hope you continue to do well and that we all get good news this year.

I am so happy for you too. Don't worry about that nodule. When I got my scans (and brain MRI) benign things show up that were there from the day we were born. Its only because we did get scanned that we now know just how unique we all really are.

What a wonderful way to start the New Year. I have not heatd of Laser Lung Surgery yet, but sounds very plausible. I have heard of Cyber-knife radio-surgery with external beams in various difficult ares of the chest.
Jean, thankyou for sharing the great results. I'm sure your doing very well and should continue to do more scanning as indicated by your onc/Dr Time is the best way to realize your success.
