Unhappy broke my foot

kicked a chair yesterday (though not on purpose) and thought i'd probably broke my toe. then i hit it on the corner of the bookshelf, the coffee table, another chair and then finally dilly's wagon. well, it wasn't just the toe it's the side under the little toe. It hurts like crazy to walk, thank god i have a three day weekend. i have to talk to my boss about figuring out how i'm going to do my job. dilly thinks it's a game and keeps stepping on me. so wear shoes people, it might save your feet.

Oh no, Bonita! I hope you heal up fast. Maybe you could just run the register or something. If I was there, I'd do your job for you and you could just tell me what to do and when to do it. You could tell me to jump and halfway up I would ask "how high?"

Smile broke my foot

juanita,
I am so sorry to hear you broke your foot. Ouch !! It is time to put your foot up on a nice pillow and get somebody else to do all the work, so you can take care of your foot.
It sounds like something I would do. Since my diagnosis in 1999 I broke several toes, a hip, a shoulder, tore a rotator cuff, stepped on glass and damaged some other things. My doc keeps telling me he is worried about my bones. Then comes his Zometa commercial. Smile. I would rather take calcium, magnesium and vitamin D. My doc's co worker keeps breaking his foot playing soccer, so he is always jumping around on crutches or limping around in those cute "sandals" other docs pass out for broken feet.
I guess it is time for you to enjoy some extra food with calcium while you are sitting with your foot on a pillow.
Take good care of yourself. Better days are ahead.

Sorry for your broken foot. I wondered if there's something to do with our treatment. I was walking with my husband this evening along the road and actually fell from stepping on the curb and losing my balance. For an ex-basketball player and track team member, it was such a shocker. I am going to be more careful now since all those glorious days have been long gone - haven't realized it until this writing that it was almost 26 years ago when I ...

wearing shoes is killing me. the only time i ever wear them is when i'm going somewhere. they come off as soon as i hit the front door. i'm like that even in winter. Becky i could still go out, i'll just wear sneakers with whatever i'm wearing. bill, i make the salads, cut up lettuce, carrots and red cabbage. oh yeah, and tomorrow is ham, but that's cubed already. think you could handle that? the register is easy, i get to sit and i have a milk crate to put my foot on. i couldn't believe i kept hitting it. dilly got an earful at times. by the time i was done the little toe was sideways.

Juanita,

Be sure to treat your foot well, so that healing will be correct. I am sure you are one of those go-getters that work, work, work. Just be careful to let your foot heal. So sorry you are having to deal with this.

After cancer, we should get a pass on anything else!

Juanita - OUCH is right! I stepped off a curb onto a cobblestone street while on vacation a couple of years ago and sprained my ankle badly (actually I BLAME it on the shoes!). It is so hard to be slowed down by a foot injury. Hopefully it is a minor break in an area that will mend quickly.

Sorry you're having to deal with this...but when I read your email I was trying to picture you hopping around hitting your foot on all those things...before I realized this probably happened over a period of time!

i went to the doctor for a recheck on my foot and a month later it still hasn't healed completely. so i'm stuck in this lovely black boot for another 3-4 weeks. as much as i hate this thing i'm really glad it's not a regular cast because at least i can take this off to sleep (which i was supposed to be wearing it to sleep but wasn't able to get any sleep at all) and to shower.
