Hi Veronica,
I had surgery 2 years ago for a 3cm brain met. The medication , decadron, was the most difficult part of the procedure for me. A few weeks after surgery I had stereotactic surgery (radiation) to the site. I refused whole brain radiation at the time. It turns out that whole brain radiation is used less now for solitary tumors because it can have side effects later, and women are surving much longer than they used to. Make sure that you find a good surgeon, for example, one who uses an MRI machine during the procedure. If you don't have a top surgeon near you it would be worth it to travel.
Best wishes and good luck.
