Sorry, My computer was down for 6 days with a virus.
I'm still here and intend to stay.

Al...So glad you're back!!! I know that I speak for everyone here when I say how lucky we are to have you here!! Your insight and determination to see this beast vanquished is a HUGE comfort...I know that Linda's illness is what fueled your fire in the first place...but we are so blessed to have your fire continue on our behalf as well as your daughters'!!!

Dx'd Dec'01 while 6mos preg. with #4. child (30yrsold)Mastectomy/AC chemo/radiation/ Recur:Mar'04 liver mets: 3 taxol/herceptin /liver resection/3 taxol/herceptin. Cured?
Recur: May'05 spine & Hip. New onc
treatment in Mexico Feb'06-Mar-06
back to Mexico June/July '06
Currently on herceptin/Zometa/Femara-recently added navelbine
Switched to arimidex Nov'06
ovaries removed June '07
ca15-3 in May'06 was 102
ca15-3 summer of '07 holding steady at 23!
ca15-3 slowly rising Dec & Jan 36, 38, 41 and Feb was 36
Feb '08 Liver, lung & Brain scan NED... bones are stable with even a couple spots gone. as compared with '06 scans
May '08 ca 15-3 is 55. Treatment is zometa, vinorelbine, herceptin and aromasin.
No signifcant changes.
Feb'09 Started Xeloda with herceptin..no more hormonals
Feb'09-June'09 tumor markers coming down again from 155 to 84
May'09 blood clots in lungs vena cava filter put in..Heparin shots daily for now.

I agree with Tammy. I am awed by your dedication, inspired by your generosity and grateful for your information. Like everyone on this site, I am also greatly saddened by your loss.
Here's hoping there's a cure soon and that your daughters never have to suffer this wicked disease.

so apparently you've been "nursing" it back to health (virus, get it?!!) Oh well, my SLIGHT attempt at humor at 4:47 in the morning. Glad your back.

2/7/05, Partial Mastectomy
5/18/05 Finished 6 rounds of dose dense TEC (Taxotere, Epirubicin and Cytoxan)
8/1/05 Finished 33 rads
8/18/05 Started Herceptin, every 3 weeks for a year (last one 8/10/06)

2/1/13...8 year Cancerversary and I am "perfect" (at least where cancer is concerned;)

I'm glad you're back too, Al, and planning to stay! Your insights and information have been invaluable to all of us.   • Diagnosed May 2005 8 months after giving birth. Stage IV due to a single liver mets.
  • Carbo/Taxotere/ Herceptin combo for 6 months
  • Herceptin/ Navelbine
  • Recurrence on the same liver spot in 7/07
  • Liver resection 9/07
  • Tykerb/xeloda 10/22/07
  • NED since 9/07 and continued Tykerb/xeloda
  • PET/CT in May 2009 show small spot in lungs. Continued Tykerb/xeloda
  • PET/CT in Aug 2009 shows progression on lung nodules (slightly bigger)
  • Onc considering Taxol/avastin
