Friend's mom

Hi,

My friend's mom was just diagnosed with breast cancer (core needle biopsy only) and will have a lumpectomy in a week. I am currently trying to put together a list of questions for her to ask the surgeon and short of the normal questions, er/pr status, grade and Her2, I am having trouble thinking of what else she should ask. I would love some help if possible.

Thanks,

Karen

How many of the cells were active? What type is it? Were the margins clear? In situ or invasive?

Thank you, Junita. Just out of curiosity, are there specific tests that should be run? I remember seeing something about a k16 (not sure if that is corrrect) or a miotic cell rate (maybe they are one in the same).

Based on the post by Robin at http://www.her2support.org/vbulletin...ad.php?t=24319
it may be usefull to find out the PTEN level should the HER status be positive.
