Hair Turned Purple

Has anyone experienced their hair turning purple after they dyed their hair with a semi permanent color? I've tried to color my hair 3-4 times now and within a day of coloring my hair, it turns purple. A hairstylist suggested that it might be due to the medications I'm on (currently having Herceptin treatments and finished Chemo in September '05). I've read quite a few messages concerning hair questions, but have not run across this happening to anyone else. Am I the only one?

When my hair finally grew back it was pure grey and very, very curly. When I colored it for the first time it also turned out to be purple. I was told it was because it was virgin hair. I did it myself and had to go and have it professionaly fixed. It only happened the first time. Now it takes color just fine. I finished my chemo in April of 04 and my hair is still really curly. Hope it stays that way.

Red face Hair Turned Purple!

Thanks for the response. I'm comforted to know I'm not the only one experiencing this! My last Chemo treatment was in Sept. 05, so it's been about 6 months. I think I'm going to go ahead and schedule an appointment with a professional to see if she/he would have any better luck. I can't go back to work with extremely short AND purple hair!
