M.D.Anderson protocol

Has anyone done the M.D. Anderson protocol for breast cancer that has only one site of metastisis? It involves Herceptin and abraxane and supposedly keeps some people NED for a very long time. I think I'm going to try it.

It sounds like a plausible combination. I believe I read somewhere that they think Herceptin and Abraxane have a synergistic effect.

Let us know how you do on it, if you decide to go ahead with it.

Hi Havah,

I am doing a similar protocol - herceptin, carboplatin and a new abraxane like study drug called ixabipalone. Diagnosed with liver mets in September - started treatment (weekly in October). Had CAT scan just before holidays and of the 4 liver mets, 1 is gone, 2 are shrinking and one has no change so we are hopeful this is working. I was also told by my onc that Abraxane is thought to have a synergistic effect with Herceptin.

herceptin + chemo results: neoadjuvant

This is a fuzzy picture of the results but it gives the information, which one might assume was similar response rates in the adjuvant setting. Any comments on this??
