Olive oil, COQ10 and Fish Oil questions

Dear experts,

Could you please tell me how much olive oil daily is enough to be beneficial to bc? Also, I saw in a recent post something about COQ10 causing tumor cells to grow faster???? Can't find it again. Can anyone elaborate? I am taking 300mg a day.

One more thing...anyone have comments of Fish Oil/Omega 3 supplements?

Thanks so much.
Cheryl

There are no experts here, just concerned heathcare advocates.

I have heard on the board that the prefered dose of olive oil is 3 - 4 tbs / day OR alot of cooking with it.

I would love to see the article on CO-Q10 and tumor progression...everything I've read says the opposite.

For fish oil, I would prefer flaxseed seed it is really a glorified version. Here is a quote from an article:

"A few words of caution to those using fish oils (eg salmon oil) rather than flax or another good source, hempseed oil - a Greenpeace report, “Body of Evidence: the effects of chlorine on human health”, relates independent laboratory analysis of 20 fish oil supplements, all of which had detectable levels of cancer-causing organo-chlorine pesticides, including DDT and also the feared cancer causing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB’s)."

Regards,
Al

Thanks Al! I no longer do fish oil for that reason. I do lots of flaxseed now. We need to be careful about the quality of some of these supplements. Sandy
