Friends,
With all the spring fashions out and all the magazines highlighting spring makeup, wouldn't it be nice to actually be pretty again. I know, I know, we're all pretty in our own way. But bald is not the same as having your own long hair. And painted on eyebrows aren't the same as having long eyelashes and nice eyebrows. And having one breast just is not the same as being able to wear low-cut tops.
I can't believe I'm crying as I write this. I suppose I'm having a brief period of mourning. Of course, I'm happy to just be alive. But sometimes, like in the spring, wouldn't it be nice....?
Love and light,
Lisa

Dear lisa
Your message made me cry too. I know exactly how you feel. It would be so effortless to look good. However I do know that everytime I see your message i love to read it and see your picture cause you look so gorgeous - something about your eyes says it all.

Thanks - Now you have me crying too! I miss my long hair, but we've all learned there ain't no such thing as a bad hair day if you have hair (even if it's a wig). We are here to see another spring and that is good enough for me. You are absolutely beautiful. I love your picture and admire you so much.

Everytime I see your picture I think "Lady in Red" and you look great....I wish I looked as good as you in a hat!

Lisa, I DO miss some of the more visible attributes that were a part of what made me feel pretty and feminine, like cleavage. Sometimes I dream, literally, that I'm whole and completely healthy again.
I do think you're so beautiful, but I know what you mean about the longing you feel. I hope my post above about the Pretty Party didn't offend you, I was just trying in my silly way to get some more input on beauty tips!
<3,
Lolly

well, this is a big topic for me. One boob, one big arm (lymphedema), weight gain from menopause. And, I don't have my husband anymore to say, 'you are the most beautiful woman in the world'... he died last May. Dammit. Why must I rely on a man to tell me that I am pretty? Gosh, what a lonely time this is for me... I am not sure what god has in store for me. Man, this is tough. Do my kids see me, or do they see a mom that makes their food, drives them around, washes their clothes...I feel invisible.

Dear Lisa, Thank you for sharing such tender feelings--knowing we all understand as no one else can. I love your picture; you are not just pretty, but the strength of your spirit shines through in your smile and the tilt of your head. We all have to cry a little sometimes over what used to be and what might have been, but the reality of how we overcome the here and now and lift each other up is the real beauty we share. You give me courage! Tricia

Rose,
I can't imagine enduring what you have. I'm sure you had to be strong for your kids after the suicide, but are they now old enough to "give you a break?" I don't remember their ages.
Do take time for you. I'm sure you're not invisible to your friends and neighbors. And certainly not to us! Do you have a picture you could download? I would love to have a picture of you to remind me of you when I think you might need some "spiritual" support.
Love and light,
Lisa
