I think this is a new study, and one doesn't need to be HLA A2 positive, as they're using a different method of determining immune response.
Check it out!

Hi Lolly -
Thanks for the tip-off. I had thought maybe Andrea Y. would have contacted me about this as she knew of my keen interest. Maybe she lost my info ... anyway I will call her tomorrow.
The key phrase in the study info from the link you provided:
"Study design This will be a Phase II, single arm clinical trial in patients with HER2 overexpressing Stage IV breast cancer who have previously been treated with trastuzumab alone or in combination with chemotherapy and are NED or have stable bone only disease and are currently on maintenance trastuzumab. Patients will receive a monthly vaccination for 6 months with a HER2 ICD peptide-based vaccine."

The main think I have to find out is whether, and for how long, I have to be off Herceptin. Not wanting to go off it was why I did not enroll in the other studies. Stay tuned.

Steph, I believe the study is taking volunteers who are currently on Herceptin monotherapy:

"Phase II Study of a HER-2/neu (HER2) Intracellular Domain (ICD) Peptide-based Vaccine Administered to Stage IV HER2 Positive Breast Cancer Patients Receiving Trastuzumab Monotherapy".

Let us know what Andrea says!

Love, Lolly

Phase II study not yet open! Our new website went 'live' and this is not ready to accrue yet. Your comments above are correct: no need to be HLA A2, but you need to be NEWLY DIAGNOSED with stage IV disease AND had less than 6 months' herceptin. (I hadn't forgotten about you Steph. sorry to all for this misinformation).
