Hi Jojo, Xeloda is taken in pill form. You take it twice a day, in whatever strength your onc prescribes for you.
The side effects for me tended to build up a little, but weren't too bad, Mainly ugly toenails/fingernails, and some peeling of the hands and feet. This was at my optimum dosage of 1000 twice a day (total of 2,000).
On the higher dose of 2000 twice a day(total of 4000), I got horrible pains, and found it intolerable. The lower dosage worked well for me, so you might have to tweak your dosage before you find one that works well, and is tolerated by you.
What was great about Xeloda, was its portability. You didn't have to worry about any schedules, if you wanted to travel, you just took the pills with you.
I was taking my daily Xeloda dosage while in Aspen for 10 days skiing in Feb of this year.
