Yes GWblahblah is Lapatinib indeed, I wish they could stick to one name only, I cannot quite see the point of having two names for each product and a reference number..but that is another debate..
Back to vaccine, Beverly what was the argument against her2 vaccine from your consultant? and why was he concerned about the UofW ones in particular?
Yes once you enroll in one then it is hard to apply for another..U of W tries to allow you on new one they make (as combined treatment), which is good.
I know that it was a tough decision for me to chose for the above reasons, but since all vaccination prog I have heard of are at phase 1 and 2 research trial, I suppose you cannot make an informed decision, prelim data at U of W were good. E75 is also meant to be good to but you cannot stay on maintenance herceptine whilst on trial.
So basically results from trials will not be ready for years, and the next phase (phase 3) for these will not be available for at least 5 years; so sometimes you just have to jump and decide to go for it! (which as suppose is inherent to the nature of 'trials'..)
Cheers all,
Kx
