Smile lymphedema

I have some slight swelling in my hand across my nuckles on my surgery side. I had 16 lymphnodes removed from this side. It feels like my veins are sore. At first I thought I hurt my hand but know I am wondering if this is the beginnings of lymphadeema. I would really appreciate your experiences and advice. Have a happy and healthy new year. Sally

Sounds like it maybe lymphedema to me. You need to see a lymphedema specialist ASAP. It treated early it can be controlled. Good luck, hugs, Sandy

Wink Similar

Hi -
I have the swelling and fluid pockets between my knuckles. Worse on my right (surgery) side.
I am now wearing a fitted compression glove with foam pieces that press on those places between my knukcles. The arm is the same size as the left one and my hand appears to be the only place the lymphedema is present.
Have your cancer center give you a referral for a good physical therapy group where there is someone who is an expert on this.
Take care of it now and it could go away and not be an indefinite problem.

Dear Sally- My hand and arm swelled and it was lymphedema. I had physical therapy and it became much better. I'm supposed to wear a sleeve every day. God Bless- Cathy
