Sad News - Hope has passed away.

Hope's daughter, Julissa, called Christine yesterday to tell her of her Mom's passing earlier in the day. She had been under hospice care for a few weeks.

Hope was one of our original members who joined this board shortly after her diagnosis in 2002. She had been an active participant in many of our local events here in San Diego.

Our prayers go out for her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Hope's passing. I will be praying for her family as they go through this difficult time. I can't help but feel sad to hear that another board member has passed from this terrible disease.

My heart goes out to Hope's family. It is so sad when a board member passes away from this dreadful disease. I'm just thankful that Hope had her family and friends with her for support. I will keep her family in my prayers.

My most sincere condolences to Hope and her family at this time. I am so saddened at yet another passing of one of the forum members. It is so sad and difficult to hear this news. My heart goes out to the entire family.

I decided to finally post because I logged on this evening and read that Hope had passed away. I have never met or even "spoke" with her, but I suppose it was a reality check. I guess her death was expected, but there is a brief period between life and death that we all struggle with. I think it is the fear of the unknown and the fear of what is to come...and a fear of life without them. It's the time when you can only hope there is peace and closure and the words that have never been said are shared.

I truly feel a deep down pain for her family and friends. I have been on that end of cancer. Losing my dad and my best friend, my grandmother, to lung cancer...I know what it is to struggle for each breath and suffer with the knots in your heart. There is no way to describe that pain, right?

Anyway, a friend sent this to me after my dad passed and I wanted to share it with someone, anyone who might appreciate it, especially during this time of the year.

My deepest sympathy and prayers to Julissa and her family is the loss of our dear Hope....and she was just as her name implys to so many of us....may you be comforted knowing that she is not in pain anymore...she is an angel watching over all of us.
