This post got bumped up due to spam, but I am amazed that science is progressing beyond Herceptin, Chemotherapy and Tykerb as treatments for brain mets. With TDM1, Pertuzamab, Intrathecal Herceptin, and others in the pipeline I hope that we can look back in another 2 1/2 years and see survival times measured in years and decades, instead of days.

Still back then Herceptin, Tykerb and Chemo improved survival from 148 days to 540 days.

I am grateful for the women who are participating in the trials so we can have access to more treatment choices.

Diagnosed 2007
Stage IIb Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Pagets, 3 of 15 positive nodes

Traditional Treatment: Mastectomy and Axillary Node Dissection followed by Taxotere, 6 treatments and 1 year of Herceptin, no radiation
Former Chemo Ninja "Takizi Zukuchiri"

Additional treatments:
GP2 vaccine, San Antonio Med Ctr
Prescriptive Exercise for Cancer Patients
ENERGY Study, UCSD La Jolla

Reconstruction: TRAM flap, partial loss, Revision
