I'm sorry you are having these side effects. I can tell you why you are prescribed the Dexamethasone-to prevent an allergic reaction to the Taxol that might be very severe. You are also probably given Benadryl and Tagamet IV before the infusion for the same reason. Epinephrine is probably kept close in case their is a severe allergic reaction. The problem isn't the Taxol as far as allergic reactions go. It is the Cremaphors (Castor oil derivatives) needed to make the Taxol soluble in water.
