I never heard of crestor to treat panic attacks. it is a drug that is used to lower cholesterol and it works by inihibiting an enzyme involved in the last step of cholesterol synthesis As far as I kn ow they use SSRI drugs like Celexa or Benzodiazepine drugs like ativan to treat panic attacks. Ativan works quickly. It takes a while until SSRIs kick in
