Hi Elaine,
I stopped Herceptin/Gemzar earlier this month in preparation for Tykerb/Abraxane(had Xeloda with Herceptin for a year just prior to Gemzar). The plan is for Abraxane weekly along with the daily Tykerb; I had my first Abraxane infusion last week and am just waiting for the Tykerb process to be completed to add it. So far no side effects from Abraxane except tiredness. Hair loss can happen by the second week, so we'll see...
My onc did some research and called a mentor in the research field to settle on Abraxane for me, given my history of prior sequential chemo's: Navelbine 3 separate times, Xeloda, then Gemzar.
Hope this helps, check the board for others Tykerb side effects some of which are related to Xeloda.
