I am about to start A/c chemo on Sept 6, followed by Taxol, Herceptin. My lump was small, 1.5 cm, and not in my lymph nodes, but cancer was HER2 status.

Can someone tell me why a side effect of this chemo is weight gain? I always thought chemo brought loss? Does it slow your metabolism, or increase your appetite? I had just lost 40+ lbs, then after lumpectomy results was so stressed I returned to old habits and gained some weight. While this is not a time to stress over my weight, dont want to put on everything I worked so hard to remove! Thank you in advance, Susanne
