tykerb AND herceptin
Hi,
It appears that researchers are mostly talking about tykerb in place of herceptin in the event that people are not responding to herceptin, or are unable to take herceptin due to cardiac issues or progression.
I've seen somewhere (I'm not sure if it was on this board or another) someone post that tykerb and herceptin could be a "one-two punch" for HER2+ cancer since herceptin works on the "outside" of the cell and tykerb on the "inside". I have not seen any news from ASCO or otherwise indicating that the two drugs would be used in conjunction with each other.
Does anyone have any insight into this?
Regards,
Amy
