Please don't confuse progesterone and progestin....they are not the same. The hormone produced by the body is progesterone..the one used in the pill etc is an altered form called progestin. If you read "What your doctor may not tell you about Breast Cancer" by Dr John Lee you will find evidence that progesterone is protective against breast cancer...in fact I use natural progesterone cream because there is some evidence that it normalises the p53 tumour suppressor gene. Women who have low progesterone levels as tested by saliva testing have increased rates of breast cancer. When I had mine tested it was low hence I use the cream to bring it up to normal physiological levels. Happy to talk more about this topic if you are interested.
