I live in rural Maine where people think we still travel in horse and wagon!! I am weighed in each week and my Herceptin is mixed after the nurse calls and lets them know I am there. I was told it is mixed on demand for these reasons. I may not be able to keep my appointment, my weight may have changed, and because of its short shelf life. Even worse is platlets and so they are being flown in from where ever they can get them. After so many hours I forget how many, I am sure Gina knows, they are thrown out. I know at my hospital if they know they are not going to use them they will let the other hospitals know that they have some that need to be used up soon. hugs, Sandy
