Hi Mikey,

I'm truly sorry you have to deal with a hospital that won't be flexible.
I was looking at a similar situation as the doctors and hospital I am going to are not contracted with my insurance. This made things more and more complicated when there was no energy left to put towards of all things the mounting bills.
What I did in my case and I don't know you may have tried it was to talk to as many different people in the billing department every day until I found one that was willing to help and after that he was the only one I talked to. Any respectable institution should work with you, sometimes its a matter of finding the right person.
Have you talked to a social worker? Sometimes they know of options that are a little less well known. Also look into Medical if you are in California. They couldn't help in my case but they have a special provision for BC patients. The social worker should know about it.
I don't think you should be sorry for bringing this subject up. It is a great concern to people and I hope you get the help you need.
