Loss of Locks
Tracey,
Don't worry too much about loosing your hair, it will grow back - think of the loss of hair as the chemo doing it's job. It is good that you were able to donate your hair to a good cause. My advice is to enjoy your short hair just for a little while and then take the plunge soon and shave you head, it is so much easier than having to put up with the constant loss of hair. As soon as your treatment finishes, your hair will start to sprout back. My friend took chemo 3 weeks ahead of me and her hair started to grow back even before her last treatment was completed. I finished chemo in October and my hair is coming in just fine and I was happy to welcome it back.
It's a shock getting used to seeing yourself in the mirror with a baldy head, but you will get through it and surprisingly, the time seems to go fast.
Best wishes!
Joan
