I think it is pretty common to have chemo before surgery. The good thing about continueing the chemo is that it goes through your whole body. Where surgery would just remove the one in your breast and not slow down the others at all. I personally feel that if you can remove the cancer from the breast before it has spread then go for it, but if it has already spread removing it won't stop the spreading. Having confience in your Dr. is important. So talk to your Dr. about what you are thinking and have him explain why he is going the way he is. My Dr. always makes me feel like I am a part of my treatment plan though I leave the final decision to him. Like you, I read all that is going on here and I go in full of questions. My Dr. says he like me being educated on what's going on. let us know how things are going. Patty H
