I found out that my blood type is O negative when I had my first child in 1967. My husband had O positive. The combo of the two meant possible problems if child had the oposite of me. Luckily she had my type. When I had my second child 2 years later, she was O positive which made me a candiate for the hemogloblin injection. Lucky for me they had just come out with it. I had the injections (at that time it was given within 24 hours after birth) I know they do it differently now. My third child was also O positive and she had no problems.
I do not know if there is a connection - I am also ER negative.
