I started the weekly regimen on 6/17 and will continue that way until my Sept 16 dose of which I will switch to the 3 week. I am doing it because my job entails intense business travel and with winter coming (and the chance of getting iced out of the NYC airports to come home on Friday afternoons for Herceptin... the stress may take me out before the cancer does). Therefore, the week of Herceptin I just won't go anywhere. My onco is waiting because I have my oophorectomy on 8/29 and I am doing so well on the weekly so he doesn't want to change anything until the surgery is over and I am healed so the weeklies will continue.
I asked the question on cardiac problems with the three week vs the one week and my onco said no difference. He did say that if you get a headache from the one week (or any other side effect like tiredness or nausea - which some women get), it may be more intense or last a bit longer since there is more drug in your system.
