You may have to go to another city (some airlines have "angel flights" for those who need to get to another place for medical opinions or treatment.
You may have to check with the major cancer centers in New York, Houston, LA or Seattle.
I am sure SOMEONE, SOMEPLACE is doing work on this aspect of our disease.
