I didn't have too much difficulty. I was given benadryl, tylenol and the steroid (can't think of the name) before each infusion, along with Kytril for nausea. I never did get nauseated, but they gave me meds to take home in case I did. I really didn't like any food because I couldn't taste anything and I found out later it was probably from the steroids I took for a short time before and after treatment. I got thrush, again I understand from the steroids. I did loose my hair within 3 weeks of starting. My blood counts were low after the first infusion and I immediately got sick, flu-like. They gave me Aranesp for my red blood cells and Neulasta for the white blood cells and I never got sick again. I was very tired most of the time and slept alot but didn't have any pain. However, I did develope neuropathy in my hands and feet and it's still there, hopefully dimishing. They blamed that on Taxotere. My fingernails and toesnails lifted, too, but didn't come off completely...thank goodness. They are coming back slowly. They also said the was from Taxotere.

Within a couple of weeks of ending the carboplatin and taxotere I had overwhelming energy and it felt so wonderful after sleeping my life away during those months of treatment, and the energy stayed even during radiation. My hair is growing back, although it seems slower than I want. It is curly but didn't change color, which I would have liked since my hair is almost totally white. )

If you have any more questions, just ask and I'll try to answer from what I know.
