My wife has been on Herceptin continuously since February 2003 and throughout the brain mets and treatments. It worked great for the liver mets, she had a full remission in the liver, but it has no effect on brain mets. I have seen you post your theory before that it somehow gets through the blood brain barrier when there is edema. Not sure I would put much credence in that theory as Herceptin is a very large antibody molecule and there is no evidence that it has ever helped anyone with brain mets. Would be great if it could. Obviously it hasn't been able to get into my wife's brain to do any good despite EXTENSIVE edema.
