I recently asked my GP if I should be on zometa due to being put into menopause at such a young age. She said the studies are coming out now that unless you have significant bone loss ( and I don't know the parameters, but I did not reach them) they are being much more conservative on giving Bisphosphonates because of the long term effects. Here in Canada (public healthcare) they have changed the funding to much more serious cases
