Re: Anyone experiencing heavy menstruation with large blood clots on kadcyla/tdm1?

YanYan,

It could be a number of things. Fibroids, perimenopause, and the effects of Kadcyla.

Have a discussion with your medical team. I know you are worried, but you did have a Pet scan in the last few months. If heavy menstruation is a side effect, chances are more likely it is a side effect, and not cancer mets.

It has been 3 years, I have a feeling that you and your gyno are about to have a reunion for a thorough checkout. Lucky you - the pelvic ultrasound.

Since heavy periods are a know side effect you could avoid aspirin, red wine, or anything else that "thins" the blood when it is around that time of the month. Eat plenty of dark green leafy vegetables and foods that have Vitamin K. Consider supplements like chlorophyll and chlorella.

Sorry about the clots, I'm sqeamish here, yikes!

Let us know what your medical team finds.
