Hi Everyone,
In Australia, on the ABC Radio National Health Report there was an awful story about a breast cancer patient's treatment at a private hospital. See this link.

It is difficult for any health system to be perfect, and cancer and its treatment is fraught. You are lucky if your journey goes perfectly smoothly.
If you feel your oncology service in Australia has been trying hard to provide you with a coordinated multidisciplinary service and has provided you with avenues to get the information and care you need, please post the name of the unit in this thread. Were you informed up front about the costs of treatment and were you provided with options?
THIS IS NOT THE THREAD FOR NAMING AND BLAMING BAD PRACTITIONERS. If you have had a bad experience, perhaps you could name the general problems encountered and then post the name of your city or town here and agree to accept a private message to discuss details with anyone who may need more specific information. Please don't name the service provider directly here.
General discussion about what should be available to BC patients in their journey and good sources of information are very welcome.
So far I've had a good experience with my team with most of my care provided by St.Andrew's Hospital Cancer Care Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland with some equally good care from St.Vincent's Hospital, Toowoomba.
Thanks
