I think this is an interesting avenue of research. 4 generations of women on my Mums side of our family died before age 50 with BC. I'm waiting for the results of BRCA testing and am now the 5th generation fighting this disease and hoping to get past the age 50 milestone which is only 7 years from here. My consultant is convinced that even if I'm BRCA negative, there is something in my family's genetic code which has predetermined so many women to develop BC in their late 30's/early 40's and fight valiantly but to no avail for the next 2-5 years. Anything science can do to unearth these secrets is a bonus - may not help me but will definitely help younger generations.
