i would never be able to run the entire distance, but so far i am doing all right. i have been cross-training and doing weights for many months, so my quads are now better able to keep my knees in place (they've dislocated 2x in the past) and i got a new pair of Nikes that are nice and springy. yesterday i ran for a half hour solid and it felt amazing. i never expected it. i'm not in it for speed, it's the *meaning* that is important to me. i will undoubtedly walk alot, particularly if stacy is there and needs a slower pace. i'll stick by her side. so far we're within $1000 of our team goal, which is so exciting.

biking is indeed easier on the knees.... but not on my butt.

i really believe in exercise helping tremendously when coping with cancer. i slogged through it as much as i could during treatment, though Herceptin really made me huff and puff for that year.
