Thanks everybody. I think all of us with mets have been through a lot, not just me.

I am going to work every day that I can, Karen, so I am trying to feel good. I have low red count which makes me tired and I keep having abdominal pain that I a) take pain meds for and then b) ignore. You can't make yourself feel good and you can't always make yourself get up and about, but on the days when I can, I try to ignore stuff like pain and enjoy myself.

It's very sad right now, saying good-bye to everybody at work. And, it's making me feel like a sick person, to have to give up my job. But, I was sick earlier this week - so sick I could barely lift my head, so that assured me that it's time. No more doubt. I am looking ahead to things I can do at home to be productive. I have made a plan and am not dreading it like I used to.

As for when I get the news, I should get it tomorrow. My doctor reads the scans himself and it'll be in the system immediately after. I'll have the PET at 11:00, see the doctor at 2:00 and he'll read it then. If it isn't clear to him he'll probably do a radiology consult so I may not know for sure but there would be no point in my seeing the doctor if I didn't have results. It's a 100 mile drive so they are pretty good about not wasting my time.

I sure hope I hear good news - NED. I'm not counting on it though.

Can't argue with success! 05/09/2013: Discussing SBRT with Radiology due to inability of bone marrow to recover from chemo. 06/07/2013: Fiducial placement for SBRT 07/03/2013: Chemo discontinued, on Perjeta, Herceptin and Zometa alone 07/25/2013: SBRT (gamma knife) begins 08/01/2013: SBRT completed 08/15/2013: STABLE! continuing with Perjeta, Herceptin, Zometa 06/18/2014: *** NED!!!!*** continuing with Perjeta, Herceptin, Zometa 01/29/2014: Still NED. continuing with Perjeta, Herceptin. Zometa lowered to every 3 months instead of monthly. 11/08/2015: Progression throughout abdomen and lungs. Started TDM-1, aka Kadcyla. Other meds discontinued. Remission was nice while it lasted. 5/27/18: Stable. Kadcyla put me right back in the barn. I have two teeny spots on my lungs that are metabolically inactive, and liver is clean. I’m beating this MFer. I was 51 when this started and had two kids, 22 and 12. Now I’m 60. My oldest got married and trying to start s family. My youngesg graduates from Caltech this June. My stepdaughter gave me grandkids. Life is fantastic.
