Re: been awhile..doing great

Hi Suzanne!

I am so happy everything is going well for you. I was just thinking about you but I figured you were doing just fine.

I did want to comment on your reference to staying on the AI alittle longer. I am on Arimidex. It will be 5 years in September (was on Tamoxifen until I got my ovaries removed). I just saw my onc on June 4 and he said he wants to keep me on another year and we'll go from there. He is hoping that a trial will finish up that will give some data that staying on is beneficial. He says that if the data says that it isn't, then we will stop then. So, I think I will be on at least one extra year and I think if there is still no data, he will continue. I have no appreciable side effects from it and I was 45 when diagnosed.

Sometimes I think about whether or not to continue as I wasn't greatly hormone positive (only ER+ - 50%) but for now, I'm good (and my 5 yrs on it isn't up until September anyway).

Always remember that being a survivor means you are still alive to live.

Love, Becky
