It went well today except for the IV - I always practically pass out. The MRI itself went really well, I felt calm and and relaxed. I try to put myself in a euphoric spot. I met with Dr. Lin right afterwards and she did the typical exam and said everything felt good. She also told me she wouldn't have the results for 2-3 days. I hate the waiting game but that's what I'll do and not dwell on it. I truly feel good about today.
Laurel - I am turning 37 this March so you were close. I know that its probably better that my ovaries have started to wake up and I will embrace that and continue to stay in Tamoxifen.
Yes my family and I were in the cover of the parenting magazine/newspaper in New Hampshire. The magazine was looking for a young woman who was HER2+ and they contacted Genetech and then my contact there put me in touch with them. If you go onto their website
www.parentingnh.com and look back to the November issue 2009. The only thing the reporter messed up was my staging she said I was stage 0 and I called her out on it immediately for the main reason of newly dx women (and men). I wouldn't want someone to think if rjey were stage 0 to go through 15 Mos of tx. She apologized and said she would do some kind of retraction on her other website.
www.examiner.com. I was proud to try and reach out to other women out there and if it can just help one person I will be happy.
Thanks for all of your support and I will let you know what happens in the next few days. One more thing my doctor wants me to have a mammo. She said it shows calcifications more so than the MRI. So I scheduled that for January 14.
