Thanks Steph for posting.I find this whole area fascinating. I also had glandular fever as a teenager and later after a particularly bad throat infection suffered post viral syndrome for months with inflammation of many joints. Interestingly this never really cleared up.
I also (not known to me at the time) had fibrocystic breast disease which some feel may be a forerunner to BC. Some doctors believe this is due to chronic inflammation. My mother suffered from breast cysts as did her sisters but they all lived to a ripe old age and never developed BC. Makes me wonder what the factors were that made mine become malignant.My onc has this theory that it is about the number of 'hits' your immune system can withstand!
