Interesting. And if it's surprising what's left out of labels, it can be shocking to see how little attention is paid to them by clinicians. When my father was put on Amiodarone, I found a very critical black box warning that said use only as last resort due to difficulty in administering it, especially over time. Anyone I've talked to in the medical field seems to be unaware of this warning. From nurses, I get the "I'm sorry but do you have any medical qualifications?" routine.

I think another parallel to labeling is reporting on failed studies. I have tracked a number of seemingly promising cancer treatments that were apparently dropped from development due to inconclusive, conflicted or hard to find study results. It's like the research and the researchers dropped off the face the Earth.
