Question

Hi Julierene,

I was reading your sig line, where you list your history...was wondering whether you think Herceptin would have made any difference in your outcome, or not?

I have a similar diagnosis: I had a 2 cm tumor, grade 3, IDC right breast, weakly ER positive, PR negative her2+++. I was started on Taxotere, Carboplatin and Herceptin after I recovered from bilateral mastectomies in Sept. So I JUST finished 4.5 treatments of the TCH regimen and do not want anymore. My onc said 'she feels we have treated the cancer aggressively and I have a good chance of a cure'. ?? I also had negative lymph nodes, as you did. Also negative for vascular space invasion (sounds like star wars ) So how does this stuff progress if you: (1) remove the breast where the cancer was and all tissue - I had a radical modified mastectomy - and take Herceptin, which is supposed to be the magic bullet?

I realize we are all different, and our diagnoses are not exact.....but I am clearly worried about how much chemo is enough.....you did way more than me and the cancer still returned.
