Susan, I have had chronic pain in my neck..feels like a knife in my neck, pectorial muscles and my armpit sometimes burns like fire when I touch it. I have all sorts of scans, gone to neurologists. All can say that I have some residual nerve damage from my surgery and the awful case of shingles that I had. Some days are worse than others. I have been taking Lyrica and it helps. I know we always tend to think the worst but I've pretty much learned that this pain is just going to be my new normal. I wouldn't get too worried if I were you, take a deep breath and try to relax. I know when I get all tense and nervous the pain is worse....sherryg683
