This just happened about a month or so ago over on YSC. A woman came on and had been posting regularly. She then said that her son had died in the hurricane. It was not true. While it seems that her mother did have breast cancer, she did not. It was a long, drawn out situation but she finally admitted the lie. How very sad that someone would take such a life-changing (and taking) experience for us, and use it for their own self-gratification...
I can only hope that she will get the help that she needs. However, not on BC boards.
