Sassy - I don't know if this would be a satisfactory alternative for you - but it would certainly be economical.
Sears sells prosthesis and you can get one for around $50.00. It's not going to be as good as one that sells for several hundred but it will work and could do you until you can claim your insurance funds. That's what I did. I've got the $400.00 special - but I also bought one from Sears as a backup. They're sold according to cup size.
There are two weights - a light foam one and a heavier one. Go for the heavier one.
