I will pray for the little one, he must be frightened with all this going on. My little girl, who's 10 has a huge lump on the side of her knee that we noticed a year ago. I thought it was a lump from a skating fall. After doing an X-ray our GP sent us to a specialist. The doctor ordered and MRI and it took a week to get the results. It was extra cartledge in the growth plate area. I remember how frightened we were with everything that had been going on. We tried not to show it for her but she was scared of the MRI. She will eventually need to have it shaved off but she will not hear of it, the doctor wanted to see her back in a year and said it was no hurry, if it started bothering her she might change her mind. It is hard for us to deal with our on health problems but when it's our children it's terrifying. I will pray your friends son has something simple and is not serious...sherryg683
