It is also a good idea to take precautions for the prevention of oral tissue problems since chemo can make the mouth much more susceptible to ulcerations and irritations. It is good to avoid toothpastes which contain the ingredient Sodium Laurel Sulfate. This is the foaming agent and not necessarily needed for good oral hygiene. Rembrandt, the one which says it is for canker sore sufferers, is good for the prevention of cancer mucositis. Also Biotene is good. Avoid hot spicy foods....
