Hi Anita,

I continue to do well. Thanks for checking. Today is 12 days post-op. Out of the 6 drains I have 2 still in. Both in my abdomen. I understand these are usually the last to go. Tomorrow I go to see the doc and hoping that one abdominal drain will be removed. I highly doubt both though. Hopefully by the end of next week they are all gone. Oh well.......they are a pain, that I'll say, but it could surely could be way worse. Since Thurs., I am walking outside 2 miles each day (1 mile in the a.m. and 1 in the p.m.) and that gives a sense of normalcy. Naturally I'm not to the power-walking/jogging phase and am sure that will be awhile BUT I'm happy to be doing so well that even that amount of walking and a slower walk makes me happy. I have to keep reminding myself that eventually I will be back to my normal - wild and crazy self - and this recovery stuff will be over. Patience Mary Jo...patience....patience.....patience (something I lack)

In answer to your question about doc recommendations for my friend......no I didn't get any. I thought it was worth a try though.

Have a nice evening Anita...

Mary Jo
